Shannon Malnory-Silbernagel

My name is Shannon Malnory-Silbernagel, and I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for the school board. As a proud Wauwatosa East alum, sister of a Tosa West alum, and the mother of a Tosa East alum, I have been a dedicated member of our community for over 40 years. I have seen firsthand the challenges and opportunities our district faces, and I am committed to making a positive impact.

Background:

I hold a bachelor’s degree in social Welfare and a Women’s Studies certificate from UW-Madison. Over the past 18 years, I have built a robust career in fundraising, complemented by a certificate in Fund Development from Parkside. My dedication to community service is reflected in my tenure on multiple boards, and I am currently serving on one. Additionally, I was on the committee that revised the Human Growth and Development (HGD) curriculum.

Platform for School Board Candidacy:

  • Accountability: I am dedicated to ensuring that our school board operates with the highest level of accountability. By asking the right questions and fostering open communication, I aim to bring greater clarity to the forefront for families.

  • Transparency: I advocate for increased district transparency. I want to create an environment where people can ask questions and receive truthful answers without fear of retribution.

  • Resource Allocation: I am committed to addressing the educational disparities between the east and west sides of Tosa, ensuring both are treated equally. I will work diligently to guarantee a fair distribution of resources across our community.

  • Creative Solutions: I will push for more creative solutions to be considered, even if they are uncomfortable. It’s time to think outside the box and seriously consider innovative approaches to improve our district.
